The Islesboro Historical Society occupies the old Town Hall building, built in 1892. After moving into the space, in 1979, the Historical Society has turned the facility into a museum and archives. The museum features regular displays as well as an annually changing exhibit. The F.S. Pendleton & Co. general store has been recreated in the museum and features original pieces and furnishings of the store. The archives are available for genealogical, cemetery and historical research.
